Armstrong Kitchens was established in 1978 with the express purpose of resurfacing kitchen cabinets. The operating principle was simple – there has to be a more efficient and reasonably priced way to make a kitchen look great than having to rebuild it from scratch. From this concept, a professional system – and a most appropriate slogan –came forth: Why replace? Reface!

After initial testing with thin, paper-like materials to cover the exterior of kitchen cabinets, without satisfactory results, the Armstrong principals asked themselves a basic question: If cabinet manufacturers finish their product with a high-quality veneer, why could not they do the same with existing kitchen cabinets, thereby giving older kitchens a brand new look at a fraction of the cost and time? Thus was born the Armstrong resurfacing system.

The doors and drawers are encapsulated in the same wood veneers as the existing cabinets, to achieve a beautifully coordinated look.
